Wedding Photo Editing Services: What to Compare Before Ordering

Updated

A wedding photo editing service should help you finish galleries with a coherent look and a manageable review process. Before comparing prices, decide which parts of the work you want handled and what a successful return should look like.

This guide explains the service options and the questions to settle before placing an order. For a practical first-gallery handoff, see our guide to outsourcing wedding photo editing.

Color editing, culling and retouching are different services

Color editing brings exposure, white balance and tone into line with your preferred finish. Across a wedding, that means responding to different light while keeping the gallery visually connected.

Culling is the selection stage: deciding which frames remain in the collection. Cropping and straightening affect the composition. Detailed retouching addresses specific distractions or local changes. Define these tasks separately so that an order reflects what you actually need.

Evaluate consistency across the wedding day

Compare work in daylight, backlight, window light and reception lighting. Look at skin, white clothing, dark suits and groups. Your preferred atmosphere may change between scenes; consistency does not require removing those differences.

Our before-and-after portfolio shows editing decisions under different conditions. Use the comparisons to decide whether our finish is compatible with the references you would send.

Understand what guides the editor

InPix pairs you with a dedicated personal editor. Your completed references, presets or profiles and style notes guide the edit. We work with starting points including Goodlight, TAP, Noble, Mastin Labs and Refined, as well as your custom preferences.

For film-and-digital galleries, relevant film scans provide a reference for the digital files. For digital-only galleries, your own finished edits establish the intended look. A preset name alone cannot communicate all of your exposure and color decisions.

Compare the total scope before comparing the bill

Check which tasks are included, how the number of photographs is counted and whether any additional service is required. The current pricing page is the source for InPix rates and order conditions.

Also consider the time you spend preparing files and reviewing the result. Outsourcing can be useful when it reduces the finishing work you would otherwise do yourself. It does not automatically produce a particular profit increase or remove the need for your final review.

Agree on the file workflow and delivery date

For standard gallery editing, InPix uses Lightroom catalogs with Smart Previews. Keep the catalog and its associated preview files together and include the references needed for the edit. Follow the upload instructions when preparing your archive.

Standard editing delivery is five to seven business days, with rush options available. Confirm the appropriate timing for your order, especially when several galleries are due together. Do not assume that a trial’s turnaround is the same as a full-gallery deadline.

Use a trial to check the fit

InPix offers up to ten free sample edits within three business days. Submit separate RAW photographs or a Lightroom catalog with Smart Previews. RAW submissions return as edited JPEGs; catalog submissions return as an edited Lightroom catalog.

Select representative scenes, provide references and review the result as a small set. Our trial evaluation guide explains what to look for. If the trial fits your style, review the first full gallery before expanding the workload.

The right service for you is the one whose editing approach, handoff and review process suit your own photography. Start with a trial to see whether personally edited work from InPix is a useful part of that process.
